Two things. First, i have a $45 propane torch from ace, model AC-10 and i was wondering if you could weld or at least cut through metal.
Second, if you could interchange the propane canisters. It came with one, but when i run out could i use the coleman lantern propane canisters? thanks.

Someone just gave me a Coleman lantern and stove from the 40`s or 50`s and I cant find a date on them. They are awesome I cant believe they just gave them to me. But they need new pumps and o-ring`s. Will the new pump`s at Walmart work for these?

How do I fix an old Coleman Fuel Lantern & Stove?
I have an old Coleman dual burner stove and lantern from my Dad's garage that I would like to use. They have been sitting for 20 plus years but are in immaculate condition. I have tried to get both to function and am lucky to still have not burned myself. I followed the guidelines for starting the stove and got a 2 foot yellow flame that wouldn't go away, flooding I guess? Far from the blue flame I needed. As for the lantern once again I followed the instructions and had new mantles and produced 2 or 3 massive fireballs before I quit. Would my problem be old fuel or do I need to clean it somehow, I believe both had fuel sitting in them all these years. Thanks in advance for any help.

What size washer/gasket should I get to replace the one that is used in a Coleman-type propane lantern? It's the gasket that is up inside the part of the lantern that screws onto a small propane fuel bottle. I've measured an old, worn out one as 22 mm outside diameter, 10 mm inside diameter. This must be a universal standard. Is there a website that gives an authoritative answer to this question?

' I bought a 4 man tent but i can only fit myself and my husband after putting in the inflatable king size mattress."
Newsflash : Manufacturers don't take into consideration for your huge inflatable mattresses, packs, duffel bags, Coleman lantern, pets and stereo systems you try to stuff in with you.
Why are people always so surprised at the size of their tent when they get it up and then complain that it is too small? Can you fit 4 people on ther floor side by side? Well there you go...a 4 man tent.

While cleaning out the garage my dad found a really nice Coleman Lantern in the original metal case. We were talking about possibly selling it, but have no idea how much it's worth. Is there a site that can give estimates on items that you might have for sale? I know I can always hop on E-bay and see what they're selling for, but this looks like it's possibly a vintage item and I kind of doubt there's something comparable to it.
Any assistance in this would be greatly appreciated. No we're not selling it yet and will not take offers at the moment.

WEATHER NEWS (it's late because I didn't know it happened)

This happened, I believe, this year. I wish I could have included the pictures.

Up here in the Northern part of Michigan we just recovered from a historic event - may I even say a a?Weather Eventa of Biblical proportions - with an historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities, and cut power to 10's of thousands.

FYI:
Obama did not come. FEMA did nothing. No one howled for the government. No one blamed the government. No one even uttered an expletive on TV.

Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit. Our mayors did not blame Obama or anyone else. Our governor did not blame Obama a or anyone else, either.

CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX, or NBC did not visit - or even report on this category 5 snow storm.

Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards. No one asked for a FEMA trailer house. No one looted. Nobody - I mean nobody - demanded the government do something. Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.

No Larry King, no Bill O'Rielly, no Oprah, no Chris Mathews, and no Geraldo Rivera. No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Streisand, no Hollywood - types to be found.

Nope, we just melted the snow for water, sent out caravans of SUV's
to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars. The truck drivers pulled
people out of snow banks and did not ask for a penny. Local restaurants made food, and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snow - bound families. Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves and broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman
lanterns. We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is
a?work or diea. We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for 'sittina at home' checks.

Even though a category 5 blizzard of this scale has never fallen
this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

I hope this gets passed on. Maybe SOME people will get the message.
The world does not owe you a living.

Do you ever wonder how our ancestors ever survived with out all the government help we have today? ;-)

i have an old coleman lantern it appears as though it was manufactured in july of 1925 "Coleman Quick-Lite" could anyone tell me or quess how much it might be worth. please and thank you

Rutland co. sells it at Tractor Supply. I know it's isopropyl alcohol-based, but I can't figure out which "clean" additive will "gel" the alcohol. It is essentially Purell with blue dye that they sell. (I used hand sanitizer to start a fire and it behaved identically.) It's got to be clean, relatively free of producing soot and only as flammable as rubbing alcohol. I'm not trying to make Napalm or something that fumes-up and explodes like Coleman Lantern Fluid.

I am tired of always having to replace a broken mantle (which is usually when I most need one and dont have one) so i was wondring if they ever came up with a more permament solution.

Usually the problem is little or no resistance when pumping. I have the opposite, too much pressure. Can't even get the plunger to go down when covering the hole with my finger. Yes the valve wheel on the plunger is open. Maybe a stuck check valve? Thanks.

This latern works great, but the cell phone charger is not charging my cell phones with the cable and USB adapter. Anyone else having the same problem? I have connected it properly. Thanks!

the front post light is similar to a Coleman lantern

Thanks wild honey

i have a coleman lantern im trying to get the fill valve out where the pump inserts into, i believe an ezy-out will work ?

I have a family of 5; 3 kids under 5. One is still in a crib so I need room to put a playpen in it. I am not looking for a good deal or what is the cheapest. Nor am I looking for the most expensive. I want someone who really knows what they are talking about to tell me what brand to look at and why they are superior.

I love North Face products and I know the names Coleman, Kelty, Eureka to name a few but I know that Coleman makes great lanterns and cook stoves as North Face makes good apparel but do they make just as good tents? Please help me!!

It seems the mantles for propane and gasoline lanterns made today are much more fragile than those I used from 1942 to 1970. Does anybody sell more shock-proof mantles than the standard Coleman brand?

I have a duel fuel stove that runs on camp stove fuel or regular gasoline. I just bought a used lantern that is not duel fuel but is supposed to run on the camp stove fuel. I wanted to see if it would run on regular gasoline so I don't have to buy camp stove fuel?

In the alternative, can the lantern be converted to run on both kinds of fuel?

Even though I pump the fuel and there's plenty of pressure, not enough fumes get through to burn blue. On the campstove, it only gave enough for one burner (the main).

What's the best way to clean out the carborater and tubes so the flow is strong. I don't want to mess with it too much because I know it's real easy to screw it up. Any tips/suggestions?

I have a coleman lantern model 275 that is not very bright. I have put in a new generator but that did not fix the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am a "they". If you want to charge your cellphone on a camping trip from the heat from your Coleman lantern I'm your man. Anyway, what little goodie do we need? Any chosen to be built ....I'll ship the answerer a free one.

While inserting the batteries it collapsed and now will not OPEN. I have tugged and pulled even looked for a latch to RELEASE it. NOTHING will not OPEN!
Any suggestions?

This is a green metallic flashlight with rubber handle, not AAA or even AA version, this one has a feature if you extend the base, the bulb that powers the flashlight head becomes visible in the plastic tubing that extends the flashlight and this becomes the lantern feature. It is a pretty cool flashlight. The diameter of the head is 3 inches, it stands about 7 inches in flashlight mode and 8 1/2 in lantern mode. If anybody can tell me how to get to the batteries so I can change them, be much appreciative, as this is a quality flashlight and I don't have the manual or anything.

Interested in Old Coleman Lanterns.
Which Models are Kerosene Models??

And now we have braced and are involved with #2 in less than 2 weeks!

It has an automatic lighting switch. It sparks when turned but does not light the mantel. I can light it when I turn on the propane with a cigarette lighter. I would like to be able to light it without a lighter. Thanks for the help.

We have a tent, two Coleman stoves, lanterns, sleeping bags. We are staying at a campground on the beach (California). Thanks.

It's for a ColemanA Lantern
